Router functionality can be expanded to act as DNP to DNP3 gateway and at the same time the router can act as DNP3 Outstation. This enables to monitor router metrics via DNP3 (supports unsolicited and solicited messages) and control and monitor routers build in IO.
Monitoring the router performance by SCADA group via DNP3 alongside the network infrastructure team streamlines observability and problem solving as both teams have access to the same data in their native platforms.
DNP3 Outstation software module has Status section and Configuration sections. Status section includes Statistics page, which is essential in troubleshooting potential issues.
